苏格兰电力公司将在英国港口建设绿氢制造厂

西班牙公用事业巨头Iberdrola旗下的苏格兰电力公司与香港港口运营商和记港口集团合作,计划在英国最大、最繁忙的集装箱港口——费利克斯托港开发、建设并运营一座百兆瓦级的绿氢制造厂。该项目可以为航运业和航空业提供清洁燃料,还能为绿氨和电制甲醇的生产输送原料。当地议会议员Therese Coffey博士对在费利克斯托港建设大型氢能枢纽的计划表示欢迎:“像这样的计划,以及来自行业和政府的投资,对于我们到2050年实现净零排放至关重要。”
Scottish Power, part of Spanish utilities giant Iberdrola, together with Hong Kong operator Hutchison Ports, is looking to develop, build and operate a multi-hundred MW green hydrogen production plant at the Port of Felixstowe, the UK’s largest and busiest container port. The project could provide clean fuels for shipping and aviation as well as the material for the production of green ammonia or e-methanol. Dr Therese Coffey MP, local Member of Parliament , welcomed the plans to explore opportunities for a large-scale hydrogen hub at Felixstowe. “It’s schemes like this – and investment from industry as well as government – which is crucial for us to reach net zero by 2050” she said.
E-methanol 电制甲醇
E-methanol是一个新兴合成词,由前缀e-和methanol组成,英文全称为electrify methanol。前缀e-是electrify的缩写,代表生产过程中的电气化过程,methanol代表普通甲醇。只有e-methanol(电制甲醇)是绿色燃料。

10月1日起,包括日本邮船、日本海事联合公司在内的8家企业将与东京大学合作开展海事与海洋数字工程(MODE)项目。该项目旨在通过建立协同仿真平台,提高海事部门的数字工程技术水平。MODE使用了基于模型的设计(MBD)和系统工程(MBSE),可对产品和组件进行计算机建模,以仿真的方法对其进行检验。这不仅能优化复杂的系统设计,还能创建可供利益相关者(包括托运人和承运人)共享的协作开发流程。
NYK Group company MTI Co., Ltd., Japan Marine United Corporation, and other six corporations, have come together to establish the “Maritime and Ocean Digital Engineering”(MODE) cooperation program at the University of Tokyo from October 1. The program aims to promote and enhance digital engineering technology and skills for the maritime sector by building a cooperative simulation platform.Aiming to address problems that Japan's maritime industry is facing, two methods are used in MODE, model-based development(MBD) and model-based systems engineering(MBSE). By examining the functions of products and components as computer models, and then checking their behaviors through simulations, MBD and MBSE will produce a marked effect. They enable not only optimization of complex system designs, but also the creation of a collaborative development process involving a wide range of stakeholders, including shippers and operators.

来自产业联盟SEA/LNG的一项研究表明,用液化天然气替代现有燃料的改装方案,是现有超大型原油运输船(VLCC)改装的最优解,它有利于船舶更好地应对将于2023年生效的环境新规。在该项研究中,SEA/LNG将三个改装方案进行了比较:

Retrofitting existing very large crude carriers(VLCC) to run on LNG as fuel has enormous benefits over alternative options to future-proof the ships from becoming obsolete as new environmental regulations take the stage in 2023, a new study from the multi-sector industry coalition SEA/LNG claims. In the study, compared three scenarios in an investment case study, including an LNG retrofit, a scrubber-fitted VLCC running on heavy fuel oil, and a conventional VLCC sailing on very low sulphur fuel oil(VLSFO). When it comes to meeting the Carbon Intensity Index(CII), LNG performs best, it would maintain rating B until it slides into C mid-2027 before finally slipping to D in 2032. LNG retrofit offers financial incentives to ship owners with regard to future fuel prices, especially taking into account the likely introduction of carbon pricing in shipping.

To tackle these challenges, the two port authorities agreed to bring together a broad coalition of shippers, fuel suppliers and other companies to collectively work on potential solutions. Beyond alternative fuels, the MoU also aims to optimise maritime efficiency, safety, and the transparent flow of goods by creating a digital trade lane where relevant data, electronic documentation and standards are shared.
