英国立法限制船舶压载水排放
New laws to restrict the way ships release ballast water into UK seas

英国《2022商船(船舶压载水和沉积物控制与管理)规则》正式生效,该规则旨在限制船舶在英国水域内的压载水排放。新立法由英国海事与海岸警卫署(MCA)根据IMO《压载水管理公约》提出。将该公约引入英国法律的这一举措,可保护其海岸线免受国际航行船舶压载水中潜在水生物种与病原体的危害,有利于防范外来物种入侵,维护生态安全。
The Merchant Shipping (Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments) Regulations 2022 introduces legislation into UK law controlling the discharge of ships’ ballast water into UK waters, having come into force now. The new legislation, put forward by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA), is based on the international Ballast Water Management Convention which was negotiated at the International Maritime Organization. By introducing the Ballast Water Management Convention into UK law, the UK coastline will be protected from the ballast water by ships entering the UK after travelling internationally, which contains harmful aquatic species and pathogens. It aims to take precaution against the risk of exotic species invasion and safeguard the safety of ecosystem.

6 new methanol-fueled box ships will have Alfa Laval fuel supply systems

X-Press Feeders集团成员企业Eastaway与宁波新乐造船集团和新大洋造船签订了6艘1,170TEU甲醇双燃料集装箱船建造合同。该系列船将配备由阿法拉伐(Alfa Laval)公司提供的甲醇供应模块——低闪点燃料供应系统(LFSS)。LFSS可以在发动机制造商指定的流量、压力、温度和过滤参数范围内安全地供应甲醇。阿法拉伐公司凭借其成熟的技术、可靠的自动化以及出众的灵活性获得了船东和船厂的青睐。自2015年以来,已有10多家大型航运公司的近20个甲醇项目选用该系统。
The ships have been ordered by Eastaway, a member of the X-Press Feeders Group, at Chinese shipyards Ningbo Xinle Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd and New Dayang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. As methanol technology is still new to shipbuilders, given the complexity of the Eastaway project, the yards have hired engineering companies to procure and integrate the methanol-related components. With mature technologies, reliable automation and adapit the flexibility of any engine and vessel design, the Alfa Laval system chosen by the shipyard. A key technology in six methanol dual-fuel 1,170 TEU containership newbuilds will be the Alfa Laval FCM methanol (fuel conditioning module, methanol) low-flashpoint fuel supply system (LFSS). The Alfa Laval system safely supplies methanol within the flow rate, pressure, temperature, and filtration parameters specified by the engine maker. Since 2015, the system has been chosen in nearly 20 methanol projects for more than 10 large shipping companies.

劳氏船级社与创新咨询公司Thetius共同发布的最新报告显示,2022年海事行业将在人工智能(AI)解决方案上花费9.31亿美元。目前,人工智能已广泛应用于海事领域,支持自主航行、航程优化、船舶维护和监控等。此外,人工智能模型还可用于船舶污底管理。船舶污底是引发全球船队额外的燃料消耗和对应污染物排放的最大可预防原因。人工智能技术通过优化船体清洁计划,防止由过度清洁造成的涂层损坏或清洁不彻底引起的航行阻力增大,最终降低船舶运营成本并减少温室气体排放。
The maritime industry is forecast to spend $931 million on artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in 2022, according to a recent report published by Lloyd’s Register in cooperation with Thetius. There is a wide range of AI use cases in the maritime industry, including support of autonomous navigation, voyage optimization, as well as systems for supporting maintenance and monitoring of vessels. Also, AI models can be used to manage environmental factors like hull fouling. Hull fouling is the biggest preventable cause of excess fuel consumption and controllable GHG emissions in the worldwide shipping fleet. The AI technology creates a condition-based cleaning regime which optimizes hull cleaning schedules to prevent over cleaning and damage to coatings, or under cleaning creating excess resistance. Optimum cleaning regimes ultimately cut costs and reduce emissions.

Indonesia has the potential to become an international producer and bunkering hub for scalable zero-emission fuels (SZEF) such as green hydrogen and green ammonia. It is estimated that Indonesia has roughly 40% of the world’s reserves of geothermal energy resources. The majority of these reserves are located on the region which has large population densities and closes proximity to important shipping routes. By scaling its renewable energy potential, the establishment of a bunkering hub. Indonesia could decarbonize domestic industry and aid the broader shipping energy transition.
