近日,中船集团旗下中船动力(集团)有限公司与巴斯夫欧洲公司签署合作备忘录,旨在推动船舶碳捕集系统的商业化应用,应对全球航运业减排增效的挑战。根据备忘录,双方将应用巴斯夫的“OASE®bule”气体处理技术对不同类型的船舶燃料和船舶动力系统进行测试。据悉,中船动力集团计划在今年完成废气清洁和碳捕集系统的验证,并获得进一步产业化的认证。船舶碳捕集系统能直接捕集和储存船舶排放的二氧化碳,有助于实现航运业的脱碳目标。同时,该技术也面临着诸多挑战,比如船用的效率和经济性要求以及安全存储等问题,都需要进行测试和评估。

BASF and CSSC Power Co., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, have formed a partnership to advance onboard carbon capture (CO2 capture) systems for commercial maritime applications. The collaboration aims to address energy efficiency and emission reduction challenges in the maritime sector. The companies will conduct tests using BASF's OASE® blue gas treatment technology on various marine fuels and engines. CSSC Power plans to complete the verification of the exhaust gas cleaning and carbon capture system this year and obtain necessary approvals for further exploration of industrialization. Onboard carbon capture systems enable the direct capture and storage of CO2 emissions on ships, aiding decarbonization efforts. Challenges include developing efficient and cost-effective capture systems suitable for maritime operations, secure storage solutions, and assessing the economic viability of the technology.

LNG is projected to have roughly half the lifetime fuel costs compared to methanol and ammonia for meeting European decarbonization targets in shipping. This analysis, conducted by SEA-LNG, highlights the cost advantage of LNG as a pathway for decarbonization. The analysis considers long-term price benchmarks for alternative marine fuels and calculates the compliance costs with FuelEU Maritime regulations for a typical newbuild container vessel. SEA-LNG claims that grey ammonia and methanol are less environmentally friendly than LNG. Ship owners opting for LNG can achieve reduction targets without blending with low-carbon alternatives, while owners of methanol and ammonia-fueled vessels will require significant amounts of green fuel to comply with regulations, resulting in inflated fuel costs. The analysis indicates that the methanol pathway is about 2.5 times more expensive and the ammonia pathway is about 3.5 times more expensive than the LNG pathway.

近日,由三星重工(SHI)独立研发的远程自主航行系统“SAS(Samsung Autonomous Ship)”以及智能船舶系统“SVESSEL”获得了英国劳氏船级社(LR)的原则性认可(AiP)。据统计,绝大多数海上事故都是“人为失误”造成的,SAS集成了综合驾驶系统、态势感知工具和防碰撞决策系统等,能够与船舶现有的导航系统相结合,可以及时纠正人为的错误。SAS可以与其他系统一起被安装到船上,旨在对船舶碰撞危险度(CRI)进行评估,同时控制船舶的推进及转向装置,实现避碰。三星重工副总裁兼自主航行研究中心负责人Hyun Joe Kim表示:“SAS能够及时提供碰撞警报和可靠的避碰路线,在各种情境下帮助船员避碰,保障海上安全。”而另一个系统——SVESSEL,则用于监控、计算并评估船舶能源的使用情况,可协助实现船舶最佳倾纵、航线及航速的调整。

Classification society Lloyd’s Register (LR) has awarded Approval in Principle (AiP) to Samsung Heavy Industries for its Samsung Autonomous Ship (SAS) Autonomous Navigation System and SVESSEL® Communications System. The software Autonomous Navigation System comprises an Integrated Bridge System, situational awareness tools and SHI’s Anti-Collision Decision-Making System. It is claimed that by integrating these features with existing navigation equipment, the latest technology can eliminate human error, a principal cause of shipping accidents. The SAS software can be installed alongside other ship systems and is designed to evaluate collision risks around a vessel whilst also controlling ship direction and speed to avoid objects. Hyun Joe Kim, vice president and head of SHI’s Autonomous Ship Research Center, said: “SAS can help crews by providing collision alarms and reliable routes to avoid the collision in a variety encounters, which contributes to the safer marine environments." Meanwhile, the SVESSEL system monitors a ship’s energy consumption and supports optimal trim, route and speed.

Today, Cadeler A/S and Eneti Inc. announced that they have entered into a business combination agreement to create the preferred partner for the offshore wind industry through a stock-for-stock exchange offer to be made to all shareholders of Eneti. The combined company will be named Cadeler. The proposed combination of Cadeler and Eneti unites two companies with decades of operating track records in offshore wind turbine and foundation installation. The combined group will offer customers access to the industry's largest, most diverse and modern fleet of next-generation offshore windfarm installation vessels. The combination will position Cadeler as a robust and reliable player in the market with a true global presence through scale, a complimentary fleet, and deep industry relationships which will enable the company to target still larger and more complex projects in response to consistent customer demand. The combined group will operate four vessels on water today and six large-scale state-of-the-art new builds scheduled for delivery from 2024 to 2026.
