全球首艘绿色甲醇动力集装箱船正式命名

在丹麦哥本哈根,马士基为其全球首艘甲醇动力集装箱船举办了命名仪式,欧盟委员会主席出席仪式并将船正式命名为“劳拉马士基(Laura Maersk)”号。据悉,这一名字来源于该公司的第一艘蒸汽轮船——“劳拉”号,是船长彼得·马士基·穆勒在1886年,即第二次工业革命时期购买的。“劳拉”轮还首次涂装上了背景为浅蓝色的白色七芒星图案,这一图案后来成为马士基公司的标志。新交付的“Laura Maersk”号由韩国现代尾浦造船建造,入级美国船级社(ABS),是一艘以甲醇为动力的2100 TEU支线集装箱船。船舶的甲醇动力推进装置由曼恩(MAN)能源方案联手现代发动机机械制造公司与现代尾浦造船、马士基合作开发。除了该支线船,马士基还订造了另外24艘9000-17200TEU大型远洋甲醇动力船舶,将在2024年至2027年间陆续交付。

The world’s first containership powered by green methanol has officially been named in Copenhagen, Denmark by the President of the European Commission. The ship was named after the company’s first steamship vessel, Laura, which was bought by Captain Peter Maersk Moller in 1886 during the Industrial Revolution. Laura was also the first vessel bear the white seven-pointed star on a light blue background that later would become the logo of A.P. Moller - Maersk. The cutting-edge 2,100 TEU container vessel, powered by green methanol, and classed by ABS, was built at South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. MAN Energy Solutions and Hyundai Engine and Machinery, in collaboration with Hyundai Mipo and Maersk, developed the methanol propulsion configuration for the vessel. The feeder will be followed by 24 large ocean-going vessels of 9,000-17,200 TEU capacity which are scheduled for delivery in 2024 and 2027.

截至目前,中国造船业液化天然气(LNG)船新船订单量创下历史最高水平,可能会在未来几年内超过韩国,占据LNG运输船建造市场的主导地位。俄乌冲突引发的能源危机导致LNG船舶订单需求暴涨,在LNG船建造领域具有先发优势的韩国出现了船坞爆满、产能有限等问题,使得中国船厂承接到了大量订单。据新华社报道,2023年上半年,中国船厂新承接大型LNG船14艘,占同期全球总量的35%。来自中国船舶集团有限公司(CSSC)的相关人士表示,由于需求旺盛,中国LNG船的单船造价已从2.3亿美元左右升至2.5亿美元,但这一价格仍远低于目前的市场价格,如果中国造船厂能够按时交付船舶并保持高质量的建造水平,中国造船业的优势将更为凸显。

Chinese shipyards have accumulated their largest number of LNG newbuild orders till date, positioning them in coming years as an alternative to South Korean yards who currently dominate the LNG ship construction space. In recent years, the rush for long-term LNG contracts after the Ukraine crisis resulted in new LNG ship orders that pushed yard capacity in South Korea to its limit, opening the door for Chinese yards to expand their presence. In the first half of 2023, Chinese yards received 14 large LNG carrier orders, accounting for 35% of global orders for the period, state-owned media Xinhua News Agency reported Aug. CSSC executives said its LNG carrier prices have risen from around $230 million to $250 million due to strong demand. This is still a steep discount to prevailing industry prices and gives Chinese yards an advantage if they can maintain high-quality specifications and delivery schedules.

根据罗伯特戈登大学最新的研究报告,若成功实现海上能源转型,到2030年,英国的海上能源工作岗位数量将从目前的15万个增至22.5万个,增幅可达50%。同时,可再生能源行业的岗位数量预计将超过传统的石油和天然气行业,后者将从目前的12万个减少至2030年的8.7万个。该研究也强调,如果英国可再生能源的投资及利用率没有显著提高,近9.5万个潜在的高技能工作岗位将会面临消失风险。英国海上能源协会(OEUK)首席执行官David Whitehouse称,跨能源部门合作是创造高技能工作岗位、实现经济增长及能源转型的重要途径。

A new report by Robert Gordon University has found that the UK offshore energy workforce can increase by up to 50% from over 150,000 in 2023 to 225,000 by the end of the decade with new renewable jobs outnumbering oil and gas roles if a successful transition is achieved. A managed and just transition from oil and gas to renewables will still see the oil and gas workforce decline from 120,000 today to around 87,000 by 2030. The new Powering up the Workforce report has also warned that if the rate of investment and activity in renewables in the UK does not increase significantly, at a time when oil and gas activities are in rapid decline, then up to 95,000 potential highly skilled jobs will be at risk. David Whitehouse, CEO of OEUK, said, cross-energy sector cooperation is the route to delivering high skilled jobs, a growing economy, and a successful energy transition.

Still, it’s a cautionary tale about the potential for disaster in what is still one of the most remote places on Earth. The incident underscores the recent growth of marine traffic in the region, a trend that raises the risk of accidents and pollution in hard-to-reach places. A 2021 report on Arctic marine disasters showed a 42% increase in accidents between 2005 and 2017 north of 58 degrees latitude, which encompasses the Arctic as well as some sub-arctic territory. “The current situation clearly shows that we must and need to work to ensure there are strict, clear and unambiguous legal requirements” starting from the next cruise season, Vivian Motzfeldt, Greenland’s minister for business, trade and foreign affairs, told the media.
