(The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, EUCCC)在北京组织圆桌会议,就中欧合作推动船舶工业去碳化发展进行交流。

On November 30, 2021, China Shipbuilding Industry Association and The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) organized a round table in Beijing to exchange views on China-EU cooperation in promoting the de-carbonization development of the shipbuilding industry. Li Yanqing, Secretary-General of China Shipping Association, Qiu Jixin, Chairman of International Liner Transport Working Group of China-Europe Chamber of Commerce, Yonghu, Chairman of Maritime Manufacturing and Service Working Group of China-Europe Chamber of Commerce, and other leaders attended the meeting.

In his speech, Li Yanqing pointed out that China's shipbuilding industry has responded positively to the national strategy of "carbon peak and carbon neutralization", and has achieved positive results in the research and development of environmentally friendly ship types, the use of clean energy, and the promotion of green construction. The shipbuilding industry needs to listen to suggestions from the shipping industry, supporting industries, classification societies and other relevant stakeholders, carry out practical cooperation, and jointly formulate an inclusive, stable and effective decarbonization program to achieve sustainable development. China Shipping Association is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the China-EU Chamber of Commerce, explore the establishment of a normal exchange mechanism, and promote the implementation of decarbonization in the shipbuilding industry of China and Europe.

During the discussion, representatives of the China-EU Chamber of Commerce, Maersk, Mediterranean Shipping and Fincantini all agreed that decarbonization in the world maritime industry has become an inevitable trend in the future, and that the development and application of new carbon reduction technologies require close cooperation among shipbuilding and shipowners. China is a major shipbuilding country in the world, and Europe still has advantages in technology research and development and supporting equipment. The establishment of a dialogue platform and the promotion of pragmatic cooperation between China and Europe are conducive to achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. \n The meeting was also attended by relevant responsible comrades of China Shipping Association and China Shipbuilding Industry Integrated Technology and Economic Research Institute, as well as representatives of Maersk, Mediterranean, CMA CGM, Hapalot-Farley Investment, Fincantini, ABB, Consbo Maritime, Alfa Laval and other European enterprises in China.
